Adara Michaels was born in Sandusky, Ohio. She began her career as a self-styled promoter. she and partner Ed Marshall began an adult entertainment group called The Women of Heartbreakers, a review show consisting of 10 women (patterned on traveling mens review show Chippendales) but it fell through when the investors and tour operators fell through. A second show, Preferred Stock, featuring men and women and an elaborate stage show with props and costumes, also fell through, leading to Michaels filing for bankruptcy.
